3 Tips to Help You Build Relationships

Finding the right coach for your needs is crucial for a successful coaching experience. Here are some tips to help you find a good coach :

1. Identify the colleagues you want to prioritize

   - Start with a reasonable number of targets (3-5 is a good start).

   - Start with people you currently have tense or strained relationships
2. Schedule virtual coffee:
    - This may be the only opportunity you have to connect due to remote working.
    - Focus on getting to know each other or share more information about what
       you’re working on.
3. Commit to ongoing discussions:
    - After your virtual coffee meeting, discuss how you will maintain 
       communication in the future.
    - Attend industry events, webinars, and networking meet-ups.
    - Inform your network about your availability and skills.

In summary, these days, many of us work on highly matrixed, cross-functional teams. Team members may be distributed across offices, states, or even the world, making difficult to build the types of trusted relationships required to grow your visibility and influence within your organization.  The key is to be intentional and consistent.
